Course Description

This 6-hour asynchronous distance learning course is designed for clinicians who have completed basic EMDR training and are seeking a comprehensive review of the EMDR therapy model. Through an edited recording of a previously presented live workshop, participants will revisit all eight phases of EMDR therapy, with particular emphasis on case conceptualization, client readiness, Target Sequence Planning, the EMDR Processing Continuum (EMD, EMDr, and the Standard Protocol), cognitive interweaves, troubleshooting blocked processing, and modifications for more complex clinical presentations.

The course includes didactic instruction, recorded audience questions and discussion from the original workshop, clinical consultation, and two recorded live demonstrations. Participants will observe a Target Sequence Planning demonstration focused on Phase 1 treatment planning and an EMDR processing demonstration illustrating Phases 3–7 of the Standard Protocol. Additional recorded case consultation segments highlight common clinical challenges, treatment planning considerations, and practical applications of the EMDR model.

Upon completion of this course, participants will have strengthened their understanding of the eight phases of EMDR therapy, enhanced their ability to conceptualize EMDR cases, and increased their confidence in applying EMDR interventions across a variety of clinical presentations.

Date of Recording: October 10, 2025

Please Note: This is not a Basic EMDR Training.
It is intended as a refresher for clinicians who are trained and want to strengthen their fidelity to the model, refine their skills, or return to EMDR after a period of non-use.
