Moving from conflict to connection through meaningful, Self-led relational repair.

Conflict is an inevitable part of every relationship, but rupture does not have to result in lasting disconnection. When approached with curiosity, courage, and Self-energy, moments of conflict can become meaningful opportunities for greater understanding, healing, and connection.

In this intermediate-level experiential workshop, participants will explore conflict through the lens of Internal Family Systems (IFS), with particular attention to what happens within our internal systems when relationships become strained. We will examine how protective parts respond to perceived threats, misunderstandings, and relational injuries—and how accessing Self can help us move from defensiveness, blame, avoidance, or withdrawal toward greater openness, accountability, and connection.

Because conflict does not occur outside of culture, participants will also explore how cultural identities, experiences, messages, and norms influence the ways we understand, express, and respond to conflict. Participants will be invited to identify their own culturally influenced conflict styles, consider how differences in conflict styles can contribute to relational ruptures, and develop greater conflict agility when navigating these differences. The workshop will also examine the roles of microaggressions, intent, impact, and shame within experiences of conflict and rupture.

A central focus of the workshop will be the important distinction between apology and repair. Participants will learn and practice the skills needed to move beyond simply saying “I’m sorry” toward creating meaningful, Self-led repairs that acknowledge impact, support accountability, rebuild trust, and strengthen connection in the relationships that matter most.

Blending didactic instruction, case examples, personal reflection, guided experiential exercises, group discussion, and dyadic practice, this workshop will offer participants both a deeper understanding of relational rupture and practical IFS-informed tools for unblending from reactivity, navigating conflict, and fostering meaningful repair.egacy and pective, explore the roles of shame and family secrecy, and learn ways to
