We specialize in offering workshops that honor the multiplicity of the mind rather than pathologize it. Informed by the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, our IFS workshops nurture curiosity, clarity, creativity, compassion, and connection. In today’s polarized world, we believe IFS offers not only an inner path to healing but also a way to foster hope and understanding in our communities.
In addition to IFS-focused trainings, we offer topic-specific EMDR workshops. While IFS may not be an explicit part of the curriculum, these workshops emphasize trauma-informed EMDR therapy that prioritizes client choice, safety, and empowerment. They continue to honor the understanding that we all have parts, acknowledging the complexity of the mind and the inner experiences of those we serve.
We are committed to being neurodivergent-affirming in both our teaching styles and communication. Our founder, who is neurodivergent, created this organization to ensure that various learning styles are recognized and supported, so every participant can engage fully and benefit from the material.
Our mission is to bring these powerful therapeutic approaches to a broader community of healing professionals. Whether you’re looking to responsibly integrate IFS and parts work into your clinical practice, expand your EMDR skills, or simply broaden your therapeutic toolkit, we’re here to support your journey. Designed for practitioners at all levels—from seasoned IFS or EMDR professionals to those newly exploring parts work—our workshops invite both self-discovery and professional growth.
Let’s explore the depths of the mind together and strengthen our practices for the benefit of those we serve.

CEO, Founder, & Continuing Education Director
Multiplicity of the Mind Learning Center
Katie Wine-Appleton, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in Columbus, Ohio, is Appalachian born and raised and brings a deep sense of rootedness and authenticity to her work. With over 22 years of experience in the mental health field, she has worn many hats: private practice therapist, Certified IFS Therapist, IFS Institute–approved clinical consultant, EMDRIA–approved consultant, EMDR basic training coach, IFS Level 1 & 2 program assistant, and workshop facilitator. One of her greatest joys has been contributing to the training of the next generation of IFS and EMDR therapists. This passion led her to establish Multiplicity of the Mind Learning Center, a space dedicated to supporting the ongoing growth and development of healing professionals. Through this work, Katie hopes to expand access to the transformative power of IFS and EMDR, empowering therapists to bring more Self energy into both their clinical practice and the world.
Outside of her professional life, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and their beloved cat, Shinobi. She loves psychological thrillers, collecting crystals, and caring for her betta fish, Ricki. Her office in the woods in Dublin, Ohio, is also home to a lively crew of squirrels and birds, who are daily recipients of food and love and, in turn, provide endless entertainment for her and her clients. Deeply connected to her Appalachian roots and ancestral lineage, Katie honors the gifts passed down to her and actively seeks ways to weave that connection into her life and work.
