Legacy and
Cultural Burdens:
An Experiential
Internal Family Systems
(IFS) Workshop
February 5, 2026, 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM ET
February 6, 2026, 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM ET
Live, interactive webinar on Zoom
Facilitator: Ann Sinko, LMFT, IFSI Lead Trainer
9.75 Clock Hours of CEs
Workshop Fee: $349 USD
This workshop will be recorded.
Seats are limited to 44 participants

Legacy and cultural burdens are ubiquitous. They are belief systems, memories, emotions, and energies passed down through family lines or absorbed from the dominant culture. These burdens act as veils through which we view ourselves, others, and the world, shaping our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Join us for a 2-day immersion into legacy and cultural burdens. Enhance your skills in identifying and working with inherited and absorbed burdens. We will explore the dynamics that perpetuate these burdens and practice legacy unburdening using an IFS protocol.
This workshop is practical and experiential, featuring lectures, demonstrations, guided meditations, exercises, and small group practice.

Intended Audience
This workshop is designed for Level 1+ IFS-trained therapists, including a diverse range of mental health professionals such as licensed counselors, social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, physicians, and Level 1+ trained IFS practitioners.
Participation Requirements for IFS-informed clinicians
An advanced understanding of the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model is required. IFS-informed therapists who have not completed a Level 1 training are welcome to attend if they have at least 200+ applied clinical hours providing IFS-informed therapy to clients. IFS-informed participants should be comfortable using foundational IFS skills—such as insight, direct access, unblending, and befriending protector parts (6Fs)—as these basics will not be covered in this workshop.
Please ensure you meet these criteria to fully participate in practice dyads with colleagues at varying IFS training levels. During these dyads, you will guide and experience legacy and cultural unburdenings through insight with one another, allowing you to gain the greatest benefit from the experiential learning process.
Level of Content: Intermediate
