Somatic Internal Family Systems (Somatic IFS) expands the IFS model through somatic practices that deepen safety, embodiment, and integration and bridge the gap between insight and embodied transformation. This 10-hour workshop provides an introduction to the fundamentals of Somatic IFS, designed for clinicians who want to integrate body-based practices into parts work in order to expand access to Self energy and support transformation from the inside out.

Participants will explore the core principles of Somatic IFS, including somatic awareness, conscious breathing, radical resonance, mindful movement, and attuned touch. These practices create pathways to embodied Self energy, enhance nervous system regulation and safety, and open new possibilities when clients feel stuck in protective patterns or polarizations.

Through teaching, guided practices, and experiential exercises, you will learn how to bring an embodied dimension to your clinical work that not only facilitates embodied Self-to-part relationships, but also helps clients restore trust in their bodies, deepen integration, and sustain healing over time. Somatic IFS also strengthens the therapist’s capacity to embody Self energy in resonant, attuned ways that enrich the therapeutic relationship.

This workshop is both educational and experiential. You will leave with a strong foundation in the fundamentals of Somatic IFS and practical tools you can apply in your clinical practice. A basic understanding of the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model is required, as this workshop builds on IFS principles and expands them into embodied practice. Whether you are new to Somatic IFS or seeking to strengthen your embodied approach, this training will support you in cultivating a deeper, more compassionate connection to your own system and to those you serve.
